Based in Atlanta, Georgia, Lilian Liu's work explores the relationship of space between one's self and mental health. With influences of her hometown experiences, interests of expressing human emotions, and the drastic events within the past few years, her work translates the blend of abstractive and figurative in representing one’s confused ego and projection of one’s mental state. By applying various materials, both with paper/canvas and penmanship, she is able to resemble the complex diversity in one's self ego through forms of sketches and scribbles.
